For writing, the teacher and the student use white board. There are many pictures of thing hang on the wall to make easier to enrich our vocabulary. With all appliances, we are enthusiast for study and more enthusiast because of the air condition that make my classroom comfortable.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Internet

Nowdays, internet is very important in our life, by browsing internet we can get information and knowledge easily. There are many topics provided such as, sciences, news, economics, etc. Meanwhile, there are also some topics like advertisements and entertainments. In this writing I would like to discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of internet.
In this era, internet is commonly used by people for daily activities, besides that it may help to expand our views and world outlook. Furthermore, we can get news happening all over the world and know the latest policy of our country, which help us to make plans for our future. Of course, for most people, they like browsing internet to look for entertainment websites after working hard. They can also search relationship websites such as friendster or faceblog to enhance their social community. For archipelago country, internet is very essential to help people to find information and do the others business. So the government spends lots of money in improving the coverage of internet.
On the other hand, internet can also affect people especially teenagers. Some internet websites contains terrible things, such as porns, violences, and cruelty websites which are not good for them. In my opinion, some websites must be forbidden in our country because they aren’t suitable for our culture. This is our government duty to restrict and omit it, which can influence and destruct the mentality of young generations, if we ignore about that things, we will get bad effects significantly in the future. Moreover, browsing internet for a long term can do harm to our eyes or can reduce our eyes’s health.
All in all, internet have not only advantages but also disadvantages. We hope that we can use the advantages and throw away the disadvantages, just by leading and good cooperation between us and the government can learn a lot from it and overcome every obstacle. So a harmony society and glorification will come to our nation sooner or later.

Note:
1. an ease and well developed essay; the topic sentence is clear, the supporting sentences are flowing, the conclusion is determined, but not picturing the proposed ideas. Good control / use of connectives.
2. Rooms for improvement; word choice ( nowdays, relationship website, a long term, eyes’s, harmony society), SV agreement (have)

THE EXISTANCE OF TELEVISION
IN OUR LIFE

Recently, television can be seen everywhere in our daily life. Almost each familiy has one TV set; moreover, TV can be obtained in some public places such as school, hotel, restaurant, hospital etc. The existance of TV is significant in people life everyday.. It is almost impossible to imagine how we will live without TV. But remember that TV has also advantages and disadvantages particularly the children, because they can be influenced easily by TV programmes.

Every moment, TV is very important to help us getting information, to expand knowledge, brings entertainment and convenience, for example learning English program, movie program, animal program, talk show, and music, all of them provided there, besides, there are many channels which we may choose one of them that we like very much; Moreover, TV is quite essential equipment to spend our spare time, after a day hard work we can watch music program or news program for relax.

In our life, TV doesn't only contribute good things, but it has also weakneses. It does certain harm to our society at the same time, because we become dependence on TV. For example, these days, people have trend for watching Europen Football Championship. It usually takes a great of time, eventually, we will forget everything and makes us lazy to do something. For children, TV also gives bed effect. Some programmes of TV likr films of violence and love are not suitable for them; therefore, watching films that related to the bloody fictures and process of crime should be reduced, beside that, parents have got to accompany their children, when they watch TV, so that don't become victim of it.

To sum up, i would like to say that TV has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. It is one of sources to ecquire information and knowledge, we can catch on much there; but don't ignore the negative influence especially our children, because it will effect their future.

Indonesian NGO Role is really Hard to Applied

Since NGO had published in Indonesia, there are a lot of views that is aimed to NGO existence. Some people claim, NGO, that is created by private or group of persons doesn’t serve as it should be.This statement is supported by some facts that show us about many mistakes during their period of services. The facts are about salary resources, unquallified staff as well as corruption .It is essential for public to recognize these bussiness.
Firstly, we have to analize about staff’s salary or allowance because as we know,Indonesia faces a severe problem in solving moneter crisis.Because of that situation,it is imposible that NGO staff do not require a well-paid salary to continue their life.Inevitably, NGO must pay their staff. This organization should think about finding fund. Moreover, usually they employ foreigner to be their staff and offcourse will be needed a great number of money. Therefore,it will make NGO underpreasure in finding the money. So,they disobey their commitment as a volunteer organization.
Secondly, to conduct their primary responsibility as a balancer,NGO need qualified persons as their staff.NGO staff should perform maximum contribution. But in fact, according to statiscic data, more than a half of their workers never pass formal education even elementary school. This situation sadden us.
When the government try to decrease corruption in every level, sometimes NGO doesn’t help the government. Moreover, they accuse government as the suspect for all corruption in Indonesia.NGO always blame and across for policy that is issued by the government.
For instance, when the government increase fuel price,NGO was disagree and find many reasons to press government. One of reports said that there are a lot of corruptions that occure in NGO.
In summary,we want to say that it is important for us to think over about NGO activities in Indonesia.Really hard to make NGO become fair and believable, but we will convince everyone to finish it by finding tricks in order to solve salary, person and corruption problems.

BETTER LEADERSHIP FOR BETTER MILITARY ORGANIZATION

Leadership is fundamental thing in a organization, whether military or civilian organization. Management experts said that the core of organization is leadership, consequently without leadership all member of organization can not achieve their organization’s goals. Although leadership in military organization is similar to civilian organization, but both of them are still different. Leadership in military organization has three functions, namely: commander function, teacher function, and father function. According to that statement, I will describe three functions of leadership in military organization, so we can differ between leadership in military organization and civilian organization.

As commander function, a leader or a commander in military organization should manage all parts of his/her organization. So a commander should know how to plan, to organize, to act, and to control all parts of his organization (all parts of organization are known as The Six M in management science, such as: man, material, money, market, methode, and machine). So a commander, who is accompanied by all of his/her officer staff, should manage The Six M in his organization.

As teacher function, a commander should know his jobs well. Because, he/she should direct all of his subordinates in implementing their tasks. If his subordinate do a mistake, so he/she should correct that mistake and he/she should make sure that his subordinate does not make same mistake again.

And as father function, a commander is responsible for not only his subordinate himself, but also his subordinate family. This is a special function of a commander in military organization that we have never found in civilian organization. For example: In our national regulation number 31/1997, that the title is Military Tribunal, there is a statement that a commander has an obligation to take care his subordinate who has committed a crime. He/she should make sure that his subordinate’s right is fulfilled by military law institutions, such as: military police, military attorney, military tribunal, and military prison.

Finally, a succesfull organization is determined by its leader, whether military organization or civilian organization. And military leadership is different from military leadership, especially father function in military leadership. And if each commander implements this three functions in their organization, so their organization will work well.

The High Inflation Rate in Indonesia

Inflation is the rising prices and necessities, which is caused by an increase in the money supply and demmand for goods and resulting in a fall in the value of money. Nowadays the rate of inflation increase in our country, in 2007 the rate was 6,7% but in 2008 according to the latest report from our government is 11,25%. That is very significant rise, because it may cause many effects for our citizen, such as the increase of living costs, crimewaves, unemployments, and so on. There are two main reasons why it may happen in Indonesia, firstly is the rise of oil prices and secondly , there are many crises happen in our country.

Using Internet in Modern Society
At this time, in the modern society, some people are internet lovers, while others are not. Internet is one of the important of computers I have ever known because of its advantages for cutting the cost and its capable in offering information.
Internet demonstrates its advantages for cutting the cost in several ways, one of that is when we make a communication with another people in our private, business or social activities. By using internet we will get the efficiency cost and time because people doesn’t need to paid for papers, ink, telephone, facsimile and the cost of post officer.
Beside that, by using internet can also get many information and data while sitting in our home, our office or wherever we are in this world.
In short, I am very glad to use a smart machine like internet because it is one of the best equipment I’ve ever met. It is very useful in my daily life and I must use it wisely.

One of the educational system is formal education. Formal education consist of systematic instruction, teaching and training by professional teachers. This consists of the application of education and the development of curriculum. In Indonesia education tradition, teachers teach many different disciplines for their lessons, including psychology, history, math, linguistics, biology, sociology and so on. THE ROLE OF TNI IN THE UNITED NATION (UN) PEACEKEEPING MISSION
by : Capt Budi Alamsyah

The United Nation has role and responsibility to facilitate “peace” between countries or parties that have previously been in conflict by involving neutral countries included our beloved country, Indonesia. As a neutral country, The Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) started their role in The UN Peacekeeping Mission in 1957 in Egypt; moreover, this contribution still keeps running until now. The implementation of the Role of TNI in every UN Peacekeeping Mission is divided into two parts; they are firstly as contingent and secondly as the UN Military Observer (Milobs).
The first implementation of the Role of TNI in the UN Peacekeeping Mission is as Indonesian contingent such as Indonesian Infantry Mechanized Battalion ( IndoBatt ) and Indonesian Engineering Company ( Indo Eng Coy ). The Contingent main role is to carry out all necessary duties which is given by The UN Headquarter (UN-HQ) such as to conduct some patrol in peace zone, to provide the escort for minor contingents, to keep conflict parties part from conflicts, to take care of the refugees as well as to rebuild the facilities.
The second implementation of the Role of TNI in the UN Peacekeeping Mission is as the UN Military Observer (UN-Milobs). The UN Military Observer is a military person who works in the UN Team site in every UN Peacekeeping Mission; furthermore, he carries out several tasks such as monitoring conflicts within his responsibility area, looking for some important information as well as sending daily and weekly report to the Senior Milobs or the Chief of Team site. Even though the Milobs gets higher salary than contingent’s personnel; however, he has to face bigger risk, because he never bring weapon while taking part in whole mission.
In conclusion, TNI has been contributing a significant role in The UN Peacekeeping Mission since 1959. As long as now, The Role of TNI has been divided into two parts, they are as contingent and as The UN Military Observer. Fortunately, all Indonesian Contingents have carried out a good performance in every UN Peacekeeping Mission; therefore, it has enhanced International appreciation to our country and nation, Indonesia as a glory country.

COPING WITH FLOODS IN INDONESIA
Andaru Nugroho
B3

Floods in Indonesia is latent. Due to the last ten years headline on many Indonesian news paper, floods have never been absence in every single year. Not only in Borneo, which place many river, but also in Java has ritual floods. In Java, a series of flood habitually and invariably covers most of Bengawan Solo, Brantas, and Ciliwung river bank. Especialy in 2006, Ciliwung through 60% Jakarta area with flood and it is the widest floods through Jakarta in the latest 30 years. Due to that facts, floods are something difficult to solve in Indonesia, but not imposible to cope.

According to Indonesia’s weather characteristic that has two season, dry and wet, Indonesia has high floods potential. Heavy rainfall in wet season is potentially flooding. These seasons characteristic, accumulate with less weather consideration in policy making, as well as absence of preventive culture, make floods routine and latent.

Coping with floods in Indonesia, firstly must be expert in weather. In fact rainy season duration is relatively constan. Indonesia, the world's wettest country, suffers heavy flooding during every rainy season, which lasts around four to five months. Eventhough, this condition can predict before, by agency that responsible for watching the weather, it calls Meteorological and Geophysical Agency. This non-departmental government responsible for predict weather by meteorology, climatology, and geophysics. All about weather watch by this agency, so the weather condition was predicted.

The prediction or weather forecasting publishes in many mass media, and uses for many purpose. With this prediction we can anticipate and prevent many disaster in case of bad weather. For instance, in airline, this prediction is key point to permit aircraft take of or not, so prevent aircraft in danger. In sea, weather forecasting is a data entry to avoid ship away from storm, as well as on land, weather drives decision maker to avoid people from disaster. Like recently flood in North Jakarta, eventhough in minimum work, tidal flood can be predicted, and preparing people who live there to anticipate it.

Badly, it is useful for many many purpose, but, weather forecasting less use in planning development. Weather is less consideration for policy orientation. For this case the chief of Meteorological and Geophysical Agency was blamed by mass media, because there was no publication about weather forecasting that can be used to policy maker for making a plan and preventing disaster, espescialy flood.

To answer this, the Chief said that there was many publication publishing weather forecasting. Indeed, in case of strategic planning, everyday weather forecasting is not useful, but for strategic weather analyzis which can describe weather characteristic in long period is very important as a factor of planning. Mix with knowledge of surface of geographical contour, weather factor can predict where are the area that will be flooding. With this consideration, policy maker can avoid area that will be developed, from flood. To do this, policy maker must be weather minded, so, every planning or policy making to develop area has weather consideration to avoid from flood. It is secondly aspect to cope with flood in Indonesia.

The third aspect to cope with flood in Indonesia is culture. Why floods are routine. Why no action to prevent it? The answer of these questions are the way for coping floods. Less preventive culture is the answer. As we know, floods are not only in case of heavy rainfall, but also in wet season in comon. Why so? Because there is no discipline to handle garbage. It is all about garbage. Garbage handling is key point relate with preventive culture causing flood.

Garbage produce by family activity does not throw away in propher place. Actualy people always throw it in ditch around his environment, so ditch has double function for taking water and garbage away. Consequently there are many botle neck and it makes ditch overflow.

Ditch cause flood is just little case, and about environment, but river in botle neck cause flood in large area. The botle necks in a river are not just cause of garbage, but there is a big problem in river bank. River bank inhabitant, especialy in big city, tighten the river, so make water overflow. Consequently floods are coming in heavy rainfall in rainy season.

Botle necks in ditch and river are cultural problems, it means lack of preventive culture. Inhibitant at river bank does not realize that theire ability is cause botle neck. So to cope with floods cultural problem is the third aspect.

In short, there are three aspects that government do to cope with floods. First is being expert in weather forcasting and analyzing, second is being weather minded for decision maker, and third is developing preventive culture. These three aspects must be developt simultaniously.

THE EFFECT OF INCREASING FUEL PRICE

Indonesian government announced the increase of fuel price in June 2008. It will influence many sectors such as transportation, production and employment. People convince that it causes a rise of commodity price because it will be a chain of reaction.

Transportation is the first sectors which get the effect of increasing fuel price. The cost of transportation will increase due to the forwarding company have to maintain vehicles and pay amount of fuel more expensive than before. It will be their difficulties if they don’t raise the payment of transportation. Therefore, they insist on the government to decide the new standard of payment. As a consequence, the rise of transportation price will influence the cost of product distribution and raw material’s transportation.

Most importantly, the factories use fuel as the main source of energy. Therefore the cost of production and the price of raw materials become very expensive so the factories don’t have ability to pay for. Certainly they can’t continue their production and the factories will be bankrupt because they can’t take the advantages from their production. The costs of productions are more expensive than the advantages. At last they will discharge almost their employees to reduce the cost of production and decrease disadvantages.

The next effect is unemployment. Because of the increasing of fuel price, the forwarding company which can’t stand operating all their vehicles will stop some vehicles. It means that they discharge some of their employees, while many factories released their employees to decrease disadvantages; as a result, many people have no job. It can be a serious problem if the Government does not think about it.

Eventually, Transportation, production and employment are the main sectors that influenced by the increase of fuel price. It will be a big problem if the Government does not pay attention for it. They have to anticipate and take their best solution to handle the worst effect of increasing fuel price.

HOW TO DEVELOP TOURISM IN INDONESIA

Indonesia is one of tourism destinations for travelers in the world. There are many interesting places as tourist attractions widespread from Sumatra until Papua. Like Toba Lake in North Sumatra, Ujungkulon in Banten province, Bali island, Ocean Park in Bunaken North Sulawesi and more than twenty volcanic mountains in Indonesia.
First thing, to invite them into tourist objects are safe, interesting, comfortable and simple. Remember the tragedy of Bali blast, many countries gave alert for their citizen not to come to Indonesia because of a riot or violence, it means being safe is the most necessary for tourists.
Many tourist objects are interesting, however some of us do not want to manage that places to be more interesting, I receive some advises to overcome the problem is keep the area clean, many overseas tourists do not like to see the interesting places because of rubbish everywhere and the key of that is keep it clean.
Indonesia’s weather is different from other countries, it has two seasons, dry and rainy seasons. When dry season we must prepare an air conditioning system in the room except in the cool weather like mountainous. In rainy season, try to find and recheck a leak whether of roofs or wall that is make them uncomfortable. We do not need the luxurious places or accommodations because most of the tourists came from modern countries, then we just build the simple places like traditional housings, rural villages with wet rice fields or coconut plantations and keep our area green.
Do not forget to increase the guide’s ability to guide tourists with other skills of different languages not only English but also other foreign language greetings, such as French and Dutch in European countries, Japan or Chinese in Asia region that will give us more intelligence and tourists more friendlily.
Eventually, we must arrange our tourist objects by making situation safe, interesting, comfortable and simple, and make the prices are reasonable also make new creation about tourists objects.
